Character Studies

2017 - 18

Multidisciplinary Study

Exhibited in the show 'Roots' in High Holborn.

This series allowed me to perfect and experiment with classical painting, allowing me to question the relationship between photography and hyper-realism.

 

For the 6 month production duration of these two pieces, I conducted a Psychology Diploma in order to reflect my painting technique with the quality of my research.

This is where my intention to paint people from 'the inside out' grew and developed.

The nudeness of the figures reflect social stigmas and intends to bring individuals down to the organic matter that we are made from: celebrating our birthday suits.
